Is there an official hotel selected yet?

  2. Mitch Patterson

I’m following up on Drew’s question. Has a official hotel been selected?(along with the associated group discount)

  3. Maker Faire Detroit Team

There are a couple of hotels offering special rates during Maker Faire Detroit. The Comfort Inn Dearborn and the Hyatt.

    • Do we need a code or something to get those rates?

      • Mitch Patterson

        Randy,

It looks lite to reserve online you do. But I called the reservations line, told them about Maker Faire, and the dates, and that it was for Hyatt Regency Dearborn and they got the rate ($109+tax) per night. not sure about the Comfort Inn.

  4. Not sure how many of us will actually be attending. Can you buy tix @the door?

  5. Robert Scott

Hi, Before I decide to go how or where do I find a list of what Makers will be there? Having difficulty finding that out. Thanks

  6. William Short

As a member I would like a list of maker that will be at the Maker Faire.
    Thank you.

    • Hi William -

Our call-t0-makers ended last month, but keep an eye out next spring for the 2013 call.

      Thanks,
      Lish Dorset

I was trying to purchase tix (2 adult, 2 youth) with the presale discount, and apparently on the web I can’t do it with the discount? It’s 8pm EST on Sunday evening…..please help! I would like to purchase with my membership discount, and truly have no interest in it for the general admission price. Thank you!

    • Hi Patricia and Michelle – I’m sorry to hear about your issues with the pre-sale tickets. Could you please call our Call Center at 313-982-6001 and let them know about your situations? Thanks so much.

  8. I also had the same problem with getting the membership discount. It took me a half hour, but I found that using IE over Firefox solved the problem. For some reason, Firefox kept deleting (or not saving!) my Member ID, and kept giving me non-member pricing. I also noticed that I had many problems with my shopping cart in Firefox. If I clicked on it, it would say it was empty when I knew it was not. Once I added the stuff back in, and proceeded to check out, everything reappeared. Very very frustrating! I just wish that there were 2 day discount admission for members!

  9. With the Maker Faire only ticket, will we be able to attend Maker Faire events held inside the HF Museum or do we have to have the combined tickets to see those activities?

    • Hi Jamie -

Your ticket allows you access inside of the museum to enjoy all of the makers inside. Have a good time!

  10. Will there be a shuttle from the Hyatt to the Henry Ford this year?

  11. Why is it SO expensive???? It would be nice if there were a student rate for high school and college students.

  12. Yikes! There isn’t much of a schedule yet and I’ve already booked my hotel room. This thing better not flop.

  13. Innovator of necessity wile building

Dose HACK mean we can disassemble program commands to build a idea that would limit space uses?
Can wait to get to your Fair some time in the future.
Looks as if a lot are looking forward to it.

  14. $30 for my ticket?! And it becomes $70 if I want to treat my two kids to an afternoon there…and that’s before food, transportation, and souvenirs.

I can’t be the only one who thinks those prices are outrageous.

    • I agree! A family of 4 is $100! I’m taking my son and my husband and daughter are staying home. It’s just too expensive for us!

  15. We have a dog we can’t leave behind. Are dogs allowed? Are there any boarding facilities available if not?
    thanks!

  16. The price guidelines as posted were hard to read / misleading. We droves all the way down there with our son at 3 PM on Sunday, only to tell him at the gate that we could not afford the ticket prices. It ‘appears’ that one can attend the outside portion (no Museum) for $10 adult and $5 for child *plus the $3 increase after July 16 (?). While in small font it says ‘members’ above.
Why not CLEARY post MEMBERS & NON-MEMBER FEES?
I was heart broken for my 9 year old son. I doubt we were the only family that this happened to.
    Kind regards,
    Mrs Andi Walsh
